She noted a painless swelling of the right chest wall below the shoulder about seven years back and she was diagnosed with Primitive Neurectodermal Tumour (PNET) of Peripheral Neuroepithelioma. It was excised at Medical Mission Hospital, Kolenchery and she was referred to Medical College, Kottayam for further treatment. She received only one dose of chemotherapy after which the hair loss started and she stopped the treatment for that reason and also for other financial reasons. She got the first recurrence in the same region 4 years later, which was again excised at Medical Mission Hospital, Kolenchery and she opted for Homeo treatment on advice from her family and friends. She got the second recurrence with Lung secondaries, during the middle of the year 2007, which was excised at Lourdhe's Hospital, Ernakulam and was referred to General Hospital Ernakulam for Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy where free treatment was available.

Dr.Rosy K. A , Radiotherapist, General Hospital, Ernakulam, treated her with 13 doses of chemotherapy and 19 doses of radiotherapy following which all the lung secondaries disappeared. Unfortunately, last month the lung secondaries have again reccurred and Dr.Rosy has planned a three drug Chemotherapy every three weeks for one year expecting a good response. The treatment will continue till she is symptom free. The approximate cost for one dosage is Rs.2000/- ( USD 50/-). SM Foundation has informed its decision to support her and she is currently undergoing the treatment.
